You made it!!! Yay!! Guys, I’m soooooo excited about OOTD (Outfit of the Day) week. I’m attempting to pick some interesting pieces. So today, my major piece is harem pants. Although super comfy, many don’t understand what to do with them or how to style. So I figured I’d give you two options. Let me know which option you prefer. Keep in mind there’s so many other ways you can style them. This is just what I had at my disposal.
Here are the pants we’ll be styling.
I purchased them from H&M about two years ago. They were probably between $10-$20. If you’re interested, click here to view a similar pair. Please keep in mind, that I’ll be wearing the same shoes in both options which should give you some idea of the versatility of the piece. Just in case you were wondering about the shoes, I got them from TJ Maxx. They are tan with a rose gold footbed.
As you can see, the background pattern looks almost that of a black and white vertical stripe but it’s actually black, grey, cream and tan stripes mixed throughout. On top of those stripes is a shape similar to a diamond containing circles and lines. It kinda feels like an African print. See a better swatch of the pants on the right. The fabric is a jersey material equipped with an elastic waistband, pockets, a tapered leg and the standard drop crotch found in harem pants.
Moving on to the options, Option #1:
This option is accompanied by a sweetheart shaped, solid black cami with a knot detail at the breast I got from H&M for $10 and a cream, draped cardigan with flowered embroidered detail. I got from Target awhile ago.
This next option is a top I got from Forever 21 years ago. It’s cream with crochet detailing on the bust and sleeve.
Let me know which option you like better and guess which one I chose to wear today. I’ll post the option I chose on my Instagram. Check it out on Instagram at wethepeculiars. Also let me know if you like this type of “styling options” twist to the #OOTD posts. Do you think I should do the rest of the week with this styling element? Anyway, I hope you liked it and I’ll see you tomorrow for Tuesday’s edition of… (dun, dun, dun) my week of OOTD’s.
