So yesterday I posted a post entitled Grateful. I’m still grateful…even though yesterday I came home to a leak. I wish there was another word for it because leak seems cute, this isn’t cute…this is scary. I can’t find the point of origin. I noticed water on the wall when I got home from church. I should’ve cut the water off then but I called Mr. Cliff from church (he’s known for helping people out with home improvement issues) and because the leak was just below the wash room he cut off the water to the washing machine and I thought it looked like it started drying on the top of the banister but I noticed that below the banister it still seemed to drip. I thought it was dripping due to the water being somehow caught in the banister. Unfortunately, I was wrong, when I came home the size of the water mark had doubled and started going down the other side of the stairs. There was also a puddle in the utility room under the stairs. I ended up cutting it off all together.
The irony of it all is that in the month of Cheshvan was the 40 day 40 night flood, my mother’s basement flooded, I helped someone else with their water issues and now I have my own water issues. It’s so coincidental that I’m asking God what I’m suppose to learn from this and thus far I haven’t heard anything.
I’ve contacted a plumber who is on his way and it’s 8 pm. Despite this setback, I’m choosing to see this as a set up for something amazing. I’ve been asking myself if I should even share this with you guys but I chose to because of a statement I made talking to a friend…
I know that comparison is the thief of joy but it seems that it only seems enticing when we’re in hard spots. When you’re on top of the world, we rarely compare ourselves to anyone else…at least, if you wanna stay there. -Beebz
The point I’m making is this is life, it happens. We can be really good at showing people the amazing parts of our lives so that others will envy where we are, what we’re doing and what we have, but this is real. There’s no glow up right now but in order to have it, you have to go from somewhere, this is my somewhere.
Have you guys been running into hardships while on the road to your success?
