What I Did With My Weekend

Hey GuysScreenshot_20170813-092414.jpg

I hope you all have an amazing weekend. I’m not sure which holiday you celebrate but I hope that it was full of love, family and fun. This weekend was so busy for me. Friday, my congregation had our annual Passover Seder. The Seder was symbolic of what the Israelites leaving Egypt and all that happened during that time. Saturday, I had to go to my uncle’s funeral. It was honestly the first funeral I went to where people celebrated who the person actual was. I appreciated it. I think we honored him well. He was not buried in the typical suit and tie. He had a hoodie one and a baseball cap and they spoke honestly about his character. Then Sunday, service as usual. I don’t celebrate Easter so it was literally regular services as usual but that didn’t stop me from going to get food. You know how families have to have Easter dinner? Well, I went over Jen’s family house and ate but accidentally had some greens with pork in it. So I went for the gusto and just had some mac-n-cheese too. I promised myself I’d do better for the rest of the week. Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick check in with you guys.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you guys…I saw my sisters!! Unfortunately, not in person but on video. My aunt sent me pictures and everything. They’ve gotten so big and they even sent me text messages! Still haven’t talked to my dad but I believe in my heart that things will work out. I could keep talking but I wanted to keep this short and sweet so thanks for checking in and I’ll see you soon.
