Weekly Prayer Project-Week 24: When People Pray

Hey Peculiarsscreenshot_20180510-093522_photos7862190154161224245.jpg

Okay, this one is gonna stretch the both of us. I wasn’t able to post last week, but here’s today’s scripture:

The men turned away and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained standing before the Lord. Then Abraham approached him and said: “Will you sweep away the righteous with the wicked?”…Then he said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak just once more. What if only ten can be found there?” He answered, “For the sake of ten, I will not destroy it.” -Genesis 18:22-23, 32

Abraham actually bargained for God’s mercy for 50, 45, 40, 30, 20 and finally for 10 righteous people to be found in Sodom. Really think about that. Abraham, one person, had the power of God to spare the whole territory of Sodom if only ten people could be found righteous. That’s amazing! We truly have power and influence. We aren’t small, we are able to sway the decisions of the Most High! If Abraham could do it, what can you do? What can I do?

So here’s the stretch…let’s write down a couple of names of people who we would like God to work something out for and commit to praying for them everyday this week. I truly believe that God answers prayer and unfortunately, I don’t use it as often as I should. So let’s write it down and put a date beside it and document how God moves in their life throughout the week.

Let me know if you accept the challenge. I pray for others but not for specified times for specific results. I typically will lift someone up when I think about them or see a need but I rarely follow up to see how God specifically answered my prayer. So I’m excited to give this a try. There’s 3 people who have raised issues to my attention and like I said before I pray for them but not consistently standing for these specific requests everyday. I don’t wanna put their business out there but I do want to be held accountable. So, I’ve decided to be very vague.

  1. Friend A-I am praying for peace so that they can make clear decisions that will shape their future without emotion. I am lifting up all that is attached to them and asking the Holy Spirit to comfort them through the anxiety of the process. I pray for rest and a new level of relationship in God. May they taste and see that the Lord is good and that He loves them.
  2. Friend B-I am praying and standing in agreement that this friend will have favor in their home buying process. I am praying for patience and stability for this friend. I am asking that the Holy Spirit guides so that they may have the best strategy to get the best rates possible.
  3. Friend C-I am praying that this friend will accept that their process is what was prayed for, that God answers prayer and that they will begin to discern the elevation is attached to the trial. I pray for peace that passes all understanding and for them to apply all the tools they have received throughout the years.

Over the next 7 days this is my prayer for these people and I will let you know how it went next week in either my Weekly Prayer Project post or my Weekly Rundown. I’m excited!

 Beebz ❤
